You helped inspire me to write an article (http://www.experiencedzine.com/2012/09/09/universal-design-at-disney/) on Universal Design and Disney. I quoted you and linked back to this original post. I will check out this device (I live in Orlando...) and now with your post, I really can't wait till I get the chance to go back to Disney (I'm a huge fan too, and agree with you completely that the Disney Standard is next to unmatchable.)Munawar Bijanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09566649434287345561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1143723380059090027.post-15499561014581184812012-02-14T13:33:46.490-08:002012-02-14T13:33:46.490-08:00I'd heard of this. I'm glad to know that D...I'd heard of this. I'm glad to know that Disney's audio description devices work so well. I won't, however, review or praise anything myself until I experience it personally, no matter what I hear. As for your comments about Braille menus, I think they're going by the wayside and should. What I'm seeing more and more of is online menus rather than Braille. These have the advantage of not being outdated, being easily maintained by the restaurant and, with devices like the iPhone at our beck and call, easily accessible while out on the go. The trouble I've always had, even when restaurants had Braille menus, is that they were more often than not more than a year out of date... and don't even get me started on the ones that don't include the price of an item. It's annoying to have to ask the staff what they have, but it's down right embarrassing to order something that a place hasn't had for over a year. Thanks to various online menu resources, Braille is being phased out and replaced with something that will benefit us even more. Forget Braille menus and let's shift our efforts into making sure these currently accessible services stay that way.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10322986102033241860noreply@blogger.com
